16-Voice Performance Synthesizer
TRANQUILITY
Shape sound as a living field.
TRANQUILITY brings deep synthesis, movement, sequencing and performance into one expressive instrument. Build complex sounds, then move through them as if they were places.

Why I Built It
I wanted a synthesizer that stayed alive after the patch was built.
Most synthesizers separate sound design from performance. You build a sound in one mode, then play it in another. I wanted those experiences to remain connected.
TRANQUILITY grew from that idea: an instrument where voices respond to one another, modulation is visible and musical, and a finished patch still invites exploration. It is deep enough for detailed synthesis, but its larger purpose is immediacy—turning complexity into movement, expression and atmosphere you can feel while you play.
Play The Patch
Move through a sound.
Every preset contains eight Performance Macros and its own deterministic two-dimensional Percentage Field. Move the orb and all eight macros travel through that field together, each following its own terrain.
WANDER can scan the field automatically with smooth free-running or tempo-synced motion, while live macro readouts show exactly what the patch is doing.
- Eight assignable, host-automatable Performance Macros
- A preset-owned field recalled identically every time
- Smooth, tempo-aware WANDER motion
- Sound-derived visual feedback that never drives the audio engine

One Instrument, Six Views
Go deep without losing the musical thread.
Perform
Move through the Percentage Field, eight macros, source activity and live voice feedback.
Shape
Design three main oscillators and a dedicated Sub, then route them through two independent filters.
Animate
See four envelopes, four LFOs and four random generators at once, then route them in the Matrix.
Compose
Author notes, chords and Field movement in a four-pattern, 16-step environment.
Process
Build a reorderable nine-slot effects chain with repeatable processors and purpose-built editors.
Recall
Search, favorite and organize complete presets with embedded source recall and clear ownership.
Sound Architecture
Multiple ways into a sound. One coherent instrument on the way out.
Each of the three main oscillators can use Analog, Wavetable or Sample material, with source-local tuning, pan, unison and modulation. A dedicated Sub completes the four-source voice architecture.
Two independent filters can run in parallel or either serial direction, with flexible per-source routing and ten filter characters spanning clean, ladder, high-pass, band-pass, notch, comb and vowel designs.

Modulation
Complex movement, shown as one connected system.
The MOTION cockpit puts twelve modulation generators on one page: four curved envelopes, four LFOs and four random generators. Each card is both a live monitor and a selector for its detailed editor.
- Drag-and-drop modulation and a dedicated Matrix
- Tempo-syncable LFOs and smooth or sample-and-hold random motion
- Channel-aware expressive MIDI for pressure, timbre and performance control

Field Composer
Sequence sound and space together.
Four patterns and sixteen detailed steps combine notes and chords with timing, velocity, probability and scale-aware tools. A dedicated Field lane gives every step its own position, glide and amount.
Follow mode moves toward each step's authored Field target. Offset mode pushes the current performance position around the Field. Ideas can be dragged or saved as MIDI when you want to continue elsewhere.
Develop complete ideas.
Move between related variations without leaving the instrument.
Author detail.
Notes, chords, timing, velocity, probability and scale-aware tools.
Compose movement.
Give each step its own position, anchor, glide and amount.
Signature Effects
Nine slots for depth, color and motion.
Every serial FX slot can host any implemented effect family, including duplicates. Drag to reorder the chain, bypass individual processors and edit each one through a purpose-built visual interface.
The Close/Open Study factory preset combines Chorus, Delay and Glow Reverb. Glow's Airglow Space Field turns reverb size and decay into a playable spatial view, while the full suite also includes six-mode Distortion, Flanger, Phaser, Signature Multiband Compressor, three-band Graphical EQ and Signature Filter.
- Nine reorderable serial slots
- Repeatable effect families
- Individual effect and complete rack presets
- Purpose-built visualization for every Signature processor

The Deeper System
Relationship, expression and complete recall.
Every note can be aware of the others.
The Relational Field measures density, span, center, tension, rank and crowding, shaping how played voices interact without generating or reharmonizing MIDI.
Presets remain instruments.
Searchable factory, third-party and user libraries preserve modulation, sequencing and embedded wavetable or sample sources as one complete instrument state.
Performance data stays musical.
Channel-aware pressure, timbre, velocity and note-age sources can shape the patch through the same visible modulation language used everywhere else.
Factory Library
Sixteen starting points, each built for performance.
The factory bank spans basses, pads, keys, plucks, sequences and soundscapes. Every preset uses named Performance Macros and real factory source material, so each one is designed to move—not merely demonstrate a static timbre.
Close/Open Study
A slow-evolving soundscape built from contrasting source material, dual filter horizons and eight named macros: OPEN, CLOSE, DISTANCE, MOTION, FOG, WIDTH, SPACE and MEMORY.
Formats & Workflow
Built for the studio.
Available for Windows in VST3 format and for macOS in AU, VST3 and Standalone formats, with a universal installer for Apple Silicon and Intel.
Preset and project state preserve the complete instrument—including modulation, sequencing and embedded source assets—while the resizable 16:9 interface keeps its hierarchy familiar across supported sizes.
Available Now
An instrument to live with, not simply a list of features.
Detailed when you want to build, alive when you want to perform, and spacious enough to keep revealing new places inside a patch.
