Time to Move Forward
Time to Move Forward
With all things in life, there is a an observable flow when there are times of forward motion and momentum, and there are times when we make little to no progress at all. We have been in a time of great reflection and transformation and now that the month of August has come to a close, what has changed for you? Are you clear on the goals you have laid out for yourself and have a new perspective? Perhaps there are a few areas in your own production process and/or mindset that have shifted and now you’re seeing things in a whole new light? This is right on time and the time has come for you to start taking bigger strides to create your desired reality.
Focus on the outcome
I mentioned this in a recent video, but focusing on the outcome is the best possible way to guide yourself towards the goal that you want to achieve. Feel your way towards it. What does it feel like to release that first track, or that first album, or even create your own YouTube channel and start building an audience? What’s the feeling of someone who has already achieved those goals? That’s what you want to put at the front of your mind before you even start your day, or before you even open your DAW. Feeling is the secret so feel your way there and that reality will be closer than you ever imagined because you’re already embodying the frequency of someone who has it.
Experiment with new tools
Experiment with new ambient synths. Go deeper.
One of the best ways to shake up your own creative process, is to put yourself outside of the box that you currently find yourself in. Producing in a DAW can sometimes be limiting, but why limit yourself? You are someone who has unlimited potential therefore should feel as if the possibilities are unlimited when you sit down to produce a track. If you need to shake up your process with a new tool, go for it! Just make sure that you understand what you are acquiring, why you’re acquiring it, and what your goal is before you start incorporating it into your workflow. Sometimes the best way to approach new tools is by knowing nothing at all and just allowing yourself to play and see what happens.
Go beyond your current reality
The journey begins within.
Finally, if you feel stuck in any way, or you feel like you aren’t making progress, try and stretch your mind beyond your current situation and embody a “future version” of yourself that is much more evolved than you are right now. Allow that spirit to guide you and let it move you as you work. Some might call this a “quantum leap” into a new reality, but really you are just living in a quantum universe anyway and somewhere out there, there is a version of you that can do everything you want to do already anyway. Tap into that energy, focus on your process, and then that forward momentum that you’ve been waiting for to arrive can fully take hold and move you towards better music than you’ve ever heard before.
